What families say

We can tell you what we do. It lands differently coming from the daughter who finally slept through the night, or the husband who found somewhere his wife loved to be.

These are real messages from members’ families and from the professionals who send people to us.

“My goodness where do I even begin!? This place has been a god send for my Grandma and our family (she suffers from Alzheimer’s). If you have a family member or a loved one with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or any type of memory care loss: THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!

My Grandma, Sandy, has been coming to the Senior Center since February of this year. She truly loves it! My Grandma always looks forward to the lunches and w.e. the activity/theme is for the day. The staff genuinely cares for every person coming in through the doors. Many blessings to Sheila, Nag, and their amazing staff!!”

From families

“The staff are wonderful, so caring and attentive. They greet us each morning with a smile and appear genuinely happy to see us. My husband has thrived at the Naperville center. When I pick him up, he consistently has a smile on his face. Thank you for all you do!”

“My 90-year-old father has Parkinson’s and I work full time. I needed to take him somewhere where he would be safe and get the nursing care he needs. Now I know that he is taken care of and he really enjoys going. No matter what I have asked of them to help me with, they have found a way to make it happen. Plus they do therapy with him to get him to move better, and the main thing is he absolutely loves it there. He does all kinds of activities, crafts, games. He lights up when he knows he is going to go there. I have looked into many different facilities and tried several, and this center is by far the best we have ever found.”

“My mom recently started attending the senior center. She was so against going to ‘daycare,’ as she called it. Her first day there she was welcomed by caring staff and friendly members. She now very much looks forward to her days at the center. The staff are professional yet flexible and very caring, and the program is surprisingly affordable. It has been a lifesaver for my mom and our family.”

— Courtney DenBoer Sutherland

“Wonderful place! I would give them 10 stars if I could. Mom can’t stay alone, but we are not ready for a nursing home. This is the perfect place. The staff is so nice and kind. They treat each member with love and respect and provide excellent nursing care. They have plenty of activities, nursing care and exercise opportunities. They also serve a delicious lunch meal. My mom loves coming here. It is a win-win for everybody.”

— Judy McKormick, daughter of a member

“My husband was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s about five years ago. As the disease slowly progressed I was at a loss to provide daily activities as well as the social interaction he needs. I have found this to be a wonderful place where I can take him to meet people, make friends and keep busy with lots of fun activities. Did I mention fun? It is not unusual for me to walk in and find Wayne in the middle of a competitive Wii bowling match or singing some karaoke. Wayne loves coming here, and I recently decided to bring him an extra day each week.”

“We give Naperville Senior Center a five-star rating for excellent care and programming. The Senior Center is a warm and friendly place. In their design of the space, they have thought of everything a senior might need. My mother enjoys each day she attends, and there is always something interesting to do and a delicious lunch to share with new friends. The skilled nursing staff have specific expertise and a heart for seniors. I can relax knowing mom is in good hands.”

— Morgan Crosby

“My 95-year-old mother has been an active member of the Naperville Senior Center for almost three years. I cannot say enough great things about the facility. The members are valued and treated with compassion. There are endless activities that engage both the mind and body. And every day is different. I think that’s one of the things my mom likes most. That, and to quote her, ‘spending time with like people who understand where you are in life.’ The Senior Center has been a true bright spot in my mom’s life.”

— Chris P., daughter of a member

“My grandma went to NSC for several months until she had to move. Thank you for taking such good care of her. She always had great things to say about the days she spent there and the friends she made. Having a safe and loving place with skilled nursing care for grandma to go to was such a help to our family.”

— The Cox-Campbell Family

“My wife Lynn spent many happy days here toward the end of her life. When I told her we were going to the Naperville Senior Center, she always replied, ‘I love that place!'”

— Jim Berg, husband of a member

“Thank you for taking care of my wife Judy during this difficult time. You and your staff have exceedingly surpassed my expectations. Judy seems to be much happier after becoming a member of your facility. I feel at peace knowing that she is in good hands.”

Two decades in this community

“The Naperville Senior Center has served the Naperville community for many years. In fact, my mother attended the Senior Center in 2005. She had Alzheimer’s and was no longer able to live on her own and was living with me, my husband and my daughters. We loved having her in our home, but with everyone either working or at school, there was no one to take care of her during the day. The Naperville Senior Center provided exactly what we needed. She went to the Center every day and she was well cared for and enjoyed going. Fast forward to today — my mother is no longer with us, but the Senior Center is. It is still the same loving, caring and welcoming center it used to be.”
